When I search for Fiji by putting the terms Fiji and Image J into Google most of the links now go through to a site with URL fiji.sc/wiki/index.php/Fiji. Is this this legit? The .sc domain is for the Seychelles - seems a bit odd. I'm using a Mac, with no adverse effects when I visit the site, but I haven't tried a PC.

Wait a minute - did you get the fiji.sc domain so you could get Fiji into the URL top level, and all the others were taken or too expensive? Andrew.

Something like that. Also ".sc" rings nice with "science"... :-)
Comment 3 Johannes Schindelin 2011-06-20 19:42:46 CDT
Okay, IMHO there has been enough time for additional comments :-) So I am closing this one.
Comment 4 Curtis Rueden 2011-06-20 21:01:22 CDT
And we can still comment even though this "bug" is closed. :-)

Personally I like fiji.sc because it is shorter and more memorable.

Andrew is on the money that most of the fiji.* domains were taken, so we took what we could get.

Heh... Yes, fiji.sc and fiji.vc were still free and do not require me to be resident of the respective country. And you can interpret ".sc" as "scientific computing" and ".vc" as "visual computing" if you want...
