Description Ivan Gusachenko 2009-04-01 17:35:47 CDT
On Windows Vista, in Total Commander (like Norton Commander under Windows), double clicking to open a file kind off "foo.tif" sometimes (not systematically) results in a bug. Error message: "File is not in a supported format, a reader plugin is not available, or it was not found.
foo.ti"
It seems that launcher don't read the last letter in extension
Best regards

Are you absolutely sure that Total Commander passes the correct file name every single time?
Comment 2 Ivan Gusachenko 2009-04-01 18:12:11 CDT
I tried the same with simple Windows explorer, it has the same behaviour.
files with names like "tache_normalized.tif" always open
stacks like "S10_007.tif" and files like "S10.ch01.0001.0014.tif" - never with double click. Of course, I can always open them with Enter or by dragging them to Fiji

Sorry, I tried on XP and cannot reproduce! :-(
Comment 4 Johannes Schindelin 2009-04-19 19:48:24 CDT
Maybe it is specific to your .tif files?

I'm assigning this to myself for the moment party to stop the reminder emails going to the list. I will also attempt to find a Windows Vista machine to test it on.

Let's close this bug until we have someone who can reproduce and helps us fix the issue.
