mac os system crash report

When rotating an image (Image > Transform > Rotate) Fiji sometimes crashes the entire JVM on MAC. Several people (a lot it seems) experienced such issues, YoonJeung Chang came to me and showed me the crash report (see attachment). I cannot reproduce it on my machine though, it just sometimes happens.

Does anybody have an idea what might cause that? YoonJeung said it happens in ImageJ, too - but not that often. So it seems to definitely be a Java problem.

Bye bye,
Steffi

Java version is 1.6.0_35-b1-428 (current MAC version)

I fear that we cannot really do anything about this; the best bet you have is to use a different Java. Out of curiosity: which java does Fiji show when clicking on the status bar?

This reminds me a lot of the bug we found a year back when the Java JVM on MAC crashed because of a bitwise instead of a logic AND in JAMA ... but guess this does not help too much either.

Using a different Java on MAC is unfortunately not really an option I guess? For now I suggested the people to use the Windows machines in the LMF instead.
