Dear Fiji team,
when writing the following macro within the Fiji scripting window:
e = 0;
the fiji scripting window is compiling the code correctly.
But as soon as there is something after "e", like:
ea = 0;
eb = 0;
or even:
e0 = 0;
e1 = 0;
the following "Macro Error" gets outputed:
Statement cannot begin with '=' in line 2.
<=> ; call ( "net.imagej.legacy.plugin.IJ1MacroEngine.setOutput" , "result" , result ) ;

Thank you for the bug report: it was very helpful that you made sure to reduce it to a very simple way to reproduce.

It is fixed in the source code; we are very close to release a couple of related components, therefore the relevant file will be uploaded to the ImageJ update site only tomorrow or so.

It would be very nice, though, if you could download http://jenkins.imagej.net/job/ImageJ-legacy/182/artifact/target/imagej-legacy-0.8.5-SNAPSHOT.jar and replace your Fiji.app/jars/imagej-legacy-0.8.4.jar and verify that we really managed to resolve the problem.

Dear Johannes,
I have replaced the imagej-legacy-0.8.4.jar file with the new one and played with different conditions and everything seems to work fine now.
So thanks a lot for fixing this issue.
