Such nice middle-button functionality already exists when placing 3D landmarks, IIRC. Would be great to have it always on.

As far as I know, middle button is never used for anything except for rotating when placing 3D landmarks.

As a workaround, you can toggle between the current tool and the hand (rotation) tool with the Escape key.

The middle button is not something you should easily decide to require. But I agree that we need something better than the obscure Escape key.

Actually it already works! So it is fixed.
